Problem

A mid-sized (3-10 employees) restaurant spends on average from 8 to 36 hours 9 times per month to find a professional to fill a last-minute gap in their staff. The annual turnover rate of this industry is estimated at 78% and it costs on average 4.950 €/ per employee due to information asymmetry.

Solution

Ristocall is a multi sided platform that, on one side, allows restaurants to find last-minute resources in wait staff, kitchen, or bar; on the other, it helps professionals upskill and certify their hard and soft skills with badges. Plus, thanks to a recommendation system, each restaurateur is sure to choose the right person.

How it

works

Restaurants enter the platform to upload job posts and check for applicants for open positions.

Professionals have a dual opportunity: apply for open positions that match their competencies or decide to upskill themselves thanks to the several professional courses on the platform.

Market

opportunity

The total market opportunity is 15bn only in Italy. The main competitor is Pared (US-based, 15mln raised) which focuses only on long-term job positions and doesn’t select professionals based on their competencies. Ristocall aims to be a complete platform, for accurate matching of long-term and short-notice works.

Roadmap

Since the reopening after Covid restrictions, the team is working hard to assure every job offer is matched. The goal for the end of 2021 is to reach 5K matches and 20K € of revenue.

By the end of 2021, they will expand in the EU.
